Dr. Tyler Hoang
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Tyler Hoang grew up surrounded by sports. Thanks to his father’s deep passion for athletics—especially baseball—Tyler was exposed to a wide range of sports from an early age, including tennis, soccer, basketball, football, and baseball. These early experiences not only kept him active but instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for movement, discipline, and competition.
From the Platform to the Clinic
It wasn’t until college that Tyler discovered Olympic weightlifting, a sport that immediately captured his interest with its blend of strength, technique, and precision. What began as a curiosity quickly turned into a passion. Tyler immersed himself in the world of weightlifting, eventually becoming a coach for his college team and competing in multiple national-level events. His commitment and hard work culminated in 2019, where he won Bronze in the snatch, Gold in clean and jerk and total at the University Nationals event in the 81kg category. That then landed him a spot on Team USA’s University World team the following year. This was one of the biggest highlights of his athletic career.
Throughout his years of training, Tyler experienced his fair share of injuries, which introduced him to the world of chiropractic care. What started as a necessity for recovery evolved into a genuine fascination with the body’s mechanics and the holistic, hands-on approach that chiropractic medicine offers. Motivated by a desire to help others move and feel better, he made the decision to pursue a Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the University of Western States in Portland.

Life Outside the Clinic
Although competitive weightlifting has taken a back seat, Tyler remains dedicated to his training and overall wellness. More recently, he’s embraced new hobbies that offer a different kind of challenge and joy. He’s developed a love for bowling, sailing, and film photography; activities that allow him to explore creativity, patience, and precision in new ways. You can see many examples of his photography throughout both clinics.
Today, Dr. Hoang is committed to helping patients move, recover, and perform at their best through personalized, evidence-based care. Outside the clinic, he can often be found at the bowling lanes refining his game, trimming sails or grinding on winches on the water, hiking all around the Pacific Northwest with his partner and their dog, or capturing life’s moments through the lens of his film camera. No matter the setting—on the platform, at the helm, in the clinic, or out in nature—he brings the same curiosity, focus, and appreciation for technical excellence that have shaped his journey.
